In October 2015, The Daily Tar Heel hired a small team to create a student-powered marketing agency based out of The Daily Tar Heel. The organization, which strives to merge traditional storytelling values with modern marketing strategies, started out by producing paid content and community storytelling for organizations across the Triangle. Since, the 1893 Brand Studio continues to produce paid content and has expanded into logo design, multimedia and social media strategy.
Feature writing instructs students in how to write features for newspapers and magazines. Students produce four stories throughout the semester to hone their writing skills.

UNC Media Hub

This class provides Advertising and Public Relations students with the opportunity to learn about quantitative and qualitative research. Students pick a "real-world" client based on their interests and practice each research technique in order to form a research plan that could aid in the creation of an effective campaign.

Durham Bicycle Cooperative
The APPLES service learning program has been a part of the Carolina Center for Public Service since 2009. In Public Relations Writing, a course in the APPLES program, I was assigned to work with the Durham Bicycle Cooperative in Durham, N.C. Through this experience, I was able to apply principles of PR for the nonprofit in the form of blog critiques, communications audits and more.

The Daily Tar Heel is an independent student newspaper for UNC Chapel Hill established in 1893. Each publishing day the paper circulates 10,000 copies to 225 locations in Chapel Hill, Carrboro, Chatam and Durham.
